Holley at The City Club of San Francisco on Wednesday, March 18, from 6p – 8p hosted by the Alum Association.President Holley looks forward to updating you about the progress being made on the MHC Forward strategic plan. From faculty hires to campus renewal to the creation of career communities for students and alums, there is significant momentum to celebrate! The evening will feature an engaging conversation between President Holley and Jaime Grillo, associate vice president for career readiness. They will be joined by a group of current Mount Holyoke students visiting the Bay Area to explore career pathways. Together, they will discuss how MHC Forward and our career readiness initiatives are bridging the gap between a liberal arts education and professional success. Alums will be responsible for purchasing their own drinks and the club will contribute a few appetizers. Join us at Malaya Tea Room, a woman-owned small business in Alameda, as we celebrate the life and legacy of our founder, a pioneering figure in women’s education. Enjoy a delightful afternoon filled with a curated selection of teas, assorted finger sandwiches, scones, and sweet pastries and desserts.This special event honors Mary Lyon, founder of Mount Holyoke College, by gathering in a setting perfect for conversation and reflection. The Malaya Tea Room offers a unique high tea experience that combines classic tea traditions with the bold, vibrant flavors of Southeast Asia. This is a home and garden tour of 19th century architect Henry H Meyers. The estate is a City of Alameda landmark. We invite you to join alum, Susan Tom ‘98, for a docent led tour on May 23, from 1-3 pm. The tour is $5. Cash only, bring when you attend. Please register so we know how many to expect. The Meyers House, an exquisite example of Colonial Revival architecture, was erected in 1897 for the family of architect Henry H. Meyers. Situated on three city lots in the charming town of Alameda, this historic home features original fencing and pergola, a three-car garage, a carriage house, and an architectural studio added in 1935.
