With the short month of February behind us, we’re looking forward to leaping into spring! Thank you to those of you who joined us last week for our book club organized by Hannah Fairbanks ’03. We have a couple of social events lined up for March and April and we hope to see some new and familiar faces! We wish everyone a happy Women’s International Day and History Month!

Cal Women’s Gymnastic vs UC Davis, Sac State & Arizona
When: Sunday, March 12, 2023; 1:00 pm
Where: 115 Haas Pavilion, Berkeley, CA 94720
Cost: $15 for adults & $10 for youth. This event is open to all alums and their guests.

Do you miss supporting collegiate athletics? Remember the excitement of live sports at Kendall? Join us at Haas Pavilion at UC Berkeley to support Cal Women’s Gymnastic as they compete against UC Davis, Sac State and Arizona! Bring your family and friends.
**Prices will drop down to $6 or $5 each if we have a group of 10 or more!**

NorCal Book Club – Shubeik Lubeik – a graphic novel by Deena Mohamed
When: Wednesday, April 5, 2023; 6:00–7:00 pm PT

Cost: Free. This event is open to all alums.

Join us for reading, learning, and community as we discuss books by BIPOC authors. All meetings will be on Wednesdays, 6:00–7:00 pm on Zoom.

May: (Date, time, and book pending). The Book Club will meet in person for the Bay Area Book Festival in Berkeley.

Joaquin Miller Hike
When: Saturday, April 15, 2023; 9:30 am
Where: 3594 Sanborn Dr, Oakland, CA 94602
Cost: Free. All alumni are welcome, regardless of club affiliation
Point person: Leah Hellerstein ’08
Join us for a moderate intensity hike in the beautiful Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland! We will meet at the parking area (3594 Sanborn Dr, Oakland, CA 94602) and take a trail that starts from there. If you have suggestions/recommendations on trails in Joaquin Miller, please email Leah. For those that are interested, we can end our walk at the nearby L’ACAJOU Cafe for lunch and coffee! The hike will take place weather permitting, final confirmation will be sent the night before. Register via Eventbrite.
